Where to Eat in Subic: Meat Plus Cafe

We are frequent visitors of SBMA because of Puregold Duty Free. Oftentimes, after shopping, we hurriedly go to our must-stop-place.... Meat Plus Cafe
Meat Plus started back in the 90's catering to US Forces when SBMA was still a US Naval base. When the US Forces left, several restaurant closed down but Meat Plus remains.

THE FOOD:

Meat Plus serves different kinds of steaks. They also have burgers, pasta and coffee. They also have Combo Meals (main course, hot soup, rice, iced tea or lemonade.)

My favorite is the Combo Meal number 8 which is Pork Spareribs Meal (P200) but i opted for plain rice instead of java rice dahil maasim sa aking panlasa.

The meat fall off the bone. Even without the bbq sauce, the meat is good enough to eat on its own.
Here are some of the food we ordered:

Potato Skin with rich cheese sauce and creamy garlic dip
Caesar's Salad

Pork Spareribs Meal with Java Rice
THE PRICE:

Price ranges from P200-P500.

LOCATION:

Meat Plus Cafe is located along Sampson Road in the Subic Freeport area. It is open from Monday to Sunday at ten oclock in the morning up to nine oclock in the evening. You may call them at (047) 252-6090 or 252-7091 for booking and inquiries.

"I can't leave SUBIC without eating at Meat Plus Cafe!"

La Vista Balanga Inland Resort, Balanga City, Bataan

It was a cold Saturday morning on our annual company team building at La Vista Balanga Inland Resort, Balanga Bataan. Just an hour away from San Fernando (P), it is located at Barangay Central, Roman Expressway City of Balanga, Bataan.

It is located in a 6 hectare of natural landscape overlooking Talisay River on the east side. You can see at the west the giant cross of “Dambana ng Kagitingan” (Shrine of Valor) built at the top of the famous Mt. Samat.

La Vista boasts of its giant ”Banga”, a native clay cooking pot where the name “Balanga” was derived, right at the heart of the resort. The Banga being centrally located was conceptualized not only as a landmark for the resort and the City of Balanga but should be functional and essential too. Thus, the 2nd and 3rd floor serves as loading area for the two giant and function rooms for small meetings, reunions and parties. The view deck at the 4th floor lets you feel on top of the world in gentle isolation while savouring the 360 degrees view of the entire magical surroundings. The bottom part housed the most essential ones like the filter and pump room, showers and comfort rooms, kiosk and outdoor showers as well.

 Facilities:

  • Adult Swimming Pool w/ Gigantic Slides
  • Kiddie Swimming Pool with slide and water fountains
  • The WAVE Pool
  • Private Pools
  • Amazing Adventure Park *new (Zipline, Wall Climbing, Rapelling)
  • Butterfly Sanctuary
  • Boatride along Talisay River
  • KTV Cottages
  • Table Tennis, Billiard Hall and other outdoor games

  • Horse Backriding
  • Fishing
  • Kiddie Playground
  • Souvenir and Snack Kiosk
  • Picnic Cottages
  • Overnight Accommodations
  • Airconditioned Overnight Camping Tents (Summer Season only)

I was so excited to try the gigantic slide.... but then it turns out to be a slide walking!

There were also large statues of different animals. I hadn't much time to take picture though. Same with their overnight cottages, wala din akong na take na pictures...maybe next time. Overall we had so much fun in our day tour at La Vista. Will visit the resort again.
