Things to Do in Boracay

There are many activities to do and attractions to see in Boracay. This post is based on the things we did and from the things I've done from my previous Boracay adventure.

1. EAT

Food is first in my list. When I go places, I always find myself looking for restaurant to eat. As much as possible, gusto namin kumain sa mga resto na wala sa Manila or Pampanga.

You can try eating dinner at restaurants at the seaside. We already tried the buffet in La Carmela de Boracay, buffet in Astoria and Kalinga Bar and Restaurant Seafood buffet. Also try the Original Hawaiian Bar-b-que and I Love Backyard BBQ. For breakfast try the original calamansi muffin at Real Coffee and Cafe. for refreshing fruit shake, try Jonah's Fruit Shake.

Mayroon ding paluto restaurants sa may d'Talipapa.
You can buy seafoods sa mga stalls and you can ask the restaurant to cook them for you the way you want.

You can see the signage in different language.

This is my personal favorite

2. WATER ACTIVITIES

Most hotels also offers water activities. But if you want to haggle the price, just walk along the white beach and the commissioner will come to you offering various activities.

Helmet diving

I already tried this 2x, but the first time is much better when there were only 2 operators doing helmet diving. Back in 2010, hindi pa masyadong crowded sa ilalim, medyo malinaw pa ang tubig at maraming pang isda. Helmet diving costs around Php 200-400 depende kung ilan kayo. It comes with underwater photos with CD. Don't worry about safety, as you will get a briefing before submerging.

Flying Fish

My husband and I also tried this in 2010. At first, I was hesitant because I have poor grip on everything. But then my husband convinced me, for experience daw. I forgot how much we paid but now  I heard it cost around Php 300-400. It was an experienced i would never forget.  Because of my poor grip, 3 times akong nahulog sa gitna ng dagat. Good thing we had a briefing na babalikan naman ako at di ako lulubog dahil sa life vest.

Banana Boat

For Php 150-250 per person (minimun of 5) you can ride the banana boat. I didn't try it because I'm waiting for my husband. My sisters and her friends tried it.

Parasailing

My sister May tried this activity. It cost her P1500.00 last 2011 but she said its all worth it. Now it cost around Php 700-1000 per head.

3.  SHOP FOR PASALUBONG

You can shop for souvenir and pasalubong at d'mall and d'talipapa.

4.  ATV

At Php 400-500, you can experience driving the ATV. Don't worry if you don't know how to drive, madali lang naman. Gas at preno lang ang dapat tandaan. We got the service of Happy Dreamland Theme Park.

5.  BORACAY NIGHTLIFE

Restaurants and bars along the white beach offers happy hour cocktails. Because we were so tired, we just had coffee at the rooftop of Starbucks. While walking along the white beach, you can watch the fire dancers for free. They just ask for tip though after the performance. And also the famous sand castles appears at night.

6. WALK ALONG THE BEACH

You can walk along the beach from Station 1-3. Marami kang makikita, sa way of life ng mga tao. Mas magandang maglakad sa bandang hapon while waiting for the sunset.

7.  BORACAY PHOTO OPS

Next time... i will try other activities for a brand new experience.

I Love Backyard BBQ

This is also owned by Happy Concept Group. It is located at D'Mall. Maganda ang store....with few tables. Be there earlier that the usual eating time para makakuha ka ng seat.

Take a look...

Where to Stay in Boracay: Best Western Boracay Tropics

We stayed in this hotel on my first Boracay trip. I fell in love with the hotel kaya ngayong family naman ang kasama, dito kami nag stay. Good thing the hotel offers dorm room.

If you want a hotel that is near the beach (100 meters) but away from the crowd and party place, Best Western Boracay Tropics is the best choice.

From Villa Romero, we transfer to Boracay Tropics at around 12:00nn. We just rode the tricycle for P10.00 each.

Pagdating sa hotel, we were greeted warmly by the staffs, from the guard to the front desk officers. Mabilis ang check-in. I know that ang check-in time ay 2:00pm kaya balak namin na iwanan na lang muna ang mga bags namin sa kanila at bumalik na lang ng 2pm. To my surprise, the first room is already available and we can already check-in. That was nice! They also served us refreshing iced tea! And also, the room boy assigned to us even carried our oversize bags.

Best Western Boracay Tropics is a Class "AAA" DOT accredited hotel. This is the highest accreditation given by the DOT to resorts.  It is the equivalent to a five-star or a deluxe status of a hotel. They were also rated 4 out of 5 by its guests in Tripadvisor.

They have lush gardens and a pool na pagkakita mo pa lang, relaxing na.

They also have the Tropicafe, where complimentary buffet breakfast is served. Breakfast is good, composed of mostly Filipino breakfast. They also have on the spot omelet.

OUR ROOM:

We got the dorm room for Php 6000.00 good for 6 pax with complimentary breakfast. The room is spacious and the bed is big enough for a single person. It has two sliding windows leading to the small balcony where you can hang your wet cloths. Meron ding mini bar with complimentary coffee, tea and water replenished daily. At may complimentary wifi pa.

Maganda din ang bathroom. Mas malaki yung bathroom sa room 706 compare sa room 701. Meron ding complimentary shampoo and conditioner, soap, cotton buds and bath gel. Towels are also replaced daily.

If you want to swim in the pool, you can request for towel at the reception for free. But if you're going to use it on the beach, there is a Php 200.00 refundable deposit. Also, the receptionist warn us in having henna tattoo as it can stain both towels and linens.

Cheap Accommodation in Boracay: Villa Romero

We arrived at Boracay at around 7:00pm. We booked our first night at Villa Romero for the practical reason that we need a place to sleep. We only booked 3D/2N at Best Western Boracay Tropics.  Fully booked na kasi sila.

Villa Romero is located at  Station 3, Manoc-Manoc.

We booked their room good for 12 pax with partial view of the ocean. Our room has 6 double beds (medyo maliit ngunit malambot naman.) May towel at toiletries na rin.

Malinis naman ang cr. malakas ang tubig. Wala nga lang hot water.

This hotel is good if you are on a budget. Tulugan lang naman saka liguan. But then yung downside nga lang ay isa lang ang cr. Medyo maghihintayan lang kayo.Mabait yung mga staff nila. Meron din free wifi sa lobby. Libre din ang tubig basta may dala kang lalagyan to refill. Sa labas, may FCJ pizza at sari sari store. Mura lang. Presyong pang masa.

You can booked directly onlive thru their website. They only require 10% deposit and the remaining balance is payable in cash upon arrival.

Room rates per night:

Php    900.00 = Fan Room
       1,500.00 = Standard Room
       2,500.00 = Deluxe Room for 4
       3,000.00 = Group Room for 6
