How to Get to Boracay: Step by Step Guide

This is my 4th Boracay experience. Yeah... it's my 4th time in Boracay at di pa ako nagsasawa.  After almost 2 months, I'm back. Thanks to seat sale of Air Asia. In fact...gusto ko pang bumalik. This time, I'm with the whole family and some friends of my sister. I booked our Php 720.00 RT flight last May 2012. Air Asia ulit.

Since we are group of 12, I opted for a DIY Boracay trip because we are on a budget.

We arrived in Kalibo at around 3:30pm. I already booked our bus transfer to Caticlan port online sa Southwest Tours (P200.00 + P20 web admin. fee) para mas madali... parehas lang naman ang price. I also thought of hiring a van but I thinks it's safer if we ride the bus. Paglabas ng airport, I already saw my name sa may Southwest booth. The lady gave us our bus number and boarding pass. Nakipag-unahan kami dahil gusto namin sa may bandang harap umupo.

After almost 2 hours (medyo natagalan kasi maraming daan na under construction) nakarating na kami sa Caticlan Jetty Port.

STEP by STEP Guide Going to Boracay and coming back from Boracay

1.  The bus will stop right in front of Caticlan Jetty Port. After alighting the bus proceed to the right side of the terminal.

2.  Look for window 3 and pay P100.00 for the terminal fee. A plastic card will be given by the cashier.

3.  Pay P75.00 for environmental fee at window 2 and get your ticket.

4.  If you wish to ride the fast craft ferry, you can buy the ticket for Montenegro at window 1 or Oyster ferry at their booth beside window 1 (both ferry operators charge P50.00 for one way ticket.)

5.  If you wish to take the motorized boats (banca) that locals often ride, proceed to the left side of the terminal and you will find the window that marks Caticlan-Boracay Transport Multi-Purpose Cooperative (CBTMPC) and pay P25.00.

6.  After securing all the tickets, enter the terminal and have your baggage examined by the x-ray personnel.

7.  After getting your bag, proceed to the Tourist Information Counter and fill up the forms.

8.  Proceed to the exit gate and give your tickets to the personnel in charge.

9.  As you can see the final gate....ask the personnel or guard for your assigned boat.

10. For fast craft ferry passenger, walk to the pier and the crew will assist you to the fast craft.

 Arriving at Cagbang Port, Boracay

1.    At Cagbang Port, you can ride the tricycle going to your hotel (P100.00 per tricycle.) This can accommodate at least 4-6 pax depending on your luggage. This rate is for hotels in Station 1, 2 and 3. There is a special rate for hotels not located in Station 1,2 and 3.

2.  You can also ride the multicab operated by Boracay Land Transport Multi-Purpose Cooperative (BLTMPC) for P250.00. This can accommodate 12 pax.

We opted to ride the motorized banca dahil mas mura at para makasagap ng fresh air. Nauna pa kaming nakarating sa Cagbang port kesa sa fast craft ferry. We also rode the multi-cab going to our hotel.

O diba madali lang, mas mura pa. Pero kung gusto ninyo ng hassle-free, you can always get the service of Southwest Tours.

Sa pagbalik naman ng Kalibo, sundin lang ng pabaligtad ang steps sa pagpunta. Pero ang babayaran mo nalang ay ang terminal fee sa Cagbang port na P100.00.
