First Meeting

i just got home. my bf together with his parents took me home. im so nervous during the 20min. drive from san fernando to sta rita. maybe because this is the first time that his family will meet my family. there were so many things in my thoughts... i dnt know what to expect. we were all silent during the ride. as if everyone's filled with thought. when we reach home, i invited them for a cup of brewed coffee. i thought they will refuse my offer. then his mom slid off the car. i went to my mom's room announcing that his parents were waiting in the living room. imagine my mom's reaction.... shock is an understatement. then my sisters burst: "namamanhikan na sila?" (pamamanhikan is a Filipino tradition where the man and his parents visit the woman's family and ask for her parents blessings to marry their daughter. It is also an occasion for the parents of the woman to get to know the parents of the man.) i told them, not yet. they just took me home. funny thing is that we noticed that no one wants to do the talking. my father is not around, that leaves my mother to entertain them. at last, my mother said the first word. after 15minutes, they ask to leave because its already late. their first meeting went well. im thinking about their first impression with each other...
i sigh..... thinking maybe.....maybe on their next visit....their purpose is the "pamamanhikan" that i'm waiting for...

simpleng buhay

i've spent three days in naujan oriental mindoro. sa barrio, na experience ko ang simpleng buhay. sa pagtulog=walang aircon, sa pagligo=walang shower. walang facebook!!!! wala ring signal ang suncell! hay naku! sobrang nakakainip! ang tagal ng paglipas ng oras. (wala kasi kaming ginagawa e, hehe) people sleep early. mga 8pm wala ng pips sa daan. hay naku!..i just thought na masarap din naman ang simpleng buhay. noon naman ay wala pa naman ang lahat ng technologies na nagpapadali ng ating buhay. but if i have to choose.... syempre.... ang buhay ngayon! SARAPBUHAY!

Trip to Oriental Mindoro

I think this is my third time in Oriental Mindoro. I am still afraid of the sea. The first time I went here, we rode the fast ferry. It’s about 45 minute boat ride from Batangas Port to Calapan. But this time (just like the second time) we rode the RORO (Starlight Ferry) because it cost us only P85 per person. For almost 2 hours we were sailing, I endure the ride. Imagine my fear. I can’t even stand or walk. From Calapan Port, we traveled by jeep (1 hour) to the quiet town of Naujan where my uncle lived. We spent our 3 day vacation eating, sleeping and chatting. We experienced the simple life in Mindoro (back to basics). Inspite of my fear I will definitely come back and explore the other towns and what Mindoro can offer.

Saint Rita de Cascia

Last night, i watch the play "E Sucat Maliari" at our town plaza. Ito ay life story ng patron saint namin. Sta Rita de Cascia (Apund Dita). Our town mayor took the lead role. This is part or thefirst anniversary of the religious relic of Apung Dita that was given by the Vatican.
