Cebu City Walking Tour (3 of 3)

Next stop is the Plaza Independencia and Fort San Pedro. From Casa Gorordo we just rode the jeepney.

Plaza Independencia is one of Cebu's historical remains from the Spanish Era. Its location captures Cebuanos and tourists since it is near the Port of Cebu. Surrounding  the Plaza are also most visited such as Fort San Pedro, Cebu City Central Post Office and Malacañang sa Sugbo. Its land and age-old acacia trees are witness to the many phases and stories of Cebu’s rich history.

Fort San Pedro

One of Cebu's popular destinations is the Fort San Pedro or “Fuerza de San Pedro”

It is the smallest and oldest fort in the Philippines. It is triangular in shape. It's like a small version of Fort Santiago in Intramuros.

Entrance fee is Php40 per head

From Plaza Independencia, we took a jeepney bound to SM Cebu for our lunch. The walk was tiring, but it was all well worth the trip. It took us half day for our walking tour.
