Clark to Kalibo via AirAsia

AirAsia
AirAsia's flies daily to Kalibo from Diosdado Macapagal International Airport in Clark. Three days before our flight, I received an email from AirAsia that I can check-in via mobile or web. I choose web check-in and you have the option to purchase an insurance coverage worth P300++. Of course...I didn't avail. And them the computer automatically picked a seat for us. It shows that our seat is 16A, 16B, 16C and 16D. When I search the airplane seat plan...row 16 ay nasa tabi ng airplane wings. Walang view na makikita kundi ang wings ng eroplano. Again, may options na mag upgrade or pumili ng seat. There are two types of seat, the hot seat and the regular seat. I chose the regular seat for P90.00 each. Hot seats cost about P400++. Hot Seat refers to AirAsia product for seating with more legroom. Upon confirming our seats, I already printed our boarding pass.

We arrived at DMIA almost 3 hours before our flight. Though we already checked-in, still we have to go to the counter to drop our baggage. We took some pictures while waiting for the counter to open. Though it's still wee hours in the morning, staffs are very efficient.

Boarding was scheduled at 6:20am (40 minutes before departure). Boarding completed around 6:40am and crew were doing final headcount, demonstrating safety procedures and shortly after the aircraft doors were closed. I was surprise to see male flight attendant!

Though AirAsia is a budget airline, their seats were so comfortable and soft. Our flight went smoothly and we arrived at Kalibo 20 minutes before our scheduled arrival.

Overall, I was impress with what AirAsia offers. I was very satisfied with their service.

Update:

While composing this post, i received a text message from AirAsia and email regarding their change of flight schedule. Our flight to Kalibo on Feb 2013 was moved from 8am to 2pm the same day. Hay sayang ang halfday!

Here is their email:

Dearest Guest,

Thank you for choosing to fly with AirAsia

AirAsia has always taken great consideration in deciding changes of flights to any destinations that we serve. Unfortunately, due to commercial reasons, frequencies for our CRK – Kalibo – CRK route have to be reduced.

Frequency reduction and time changes implementation to these domestic routes are necessary so we can continue to provide safe, reliable service at low fares to all our guests.

We regret to inform you that we are implementing flight changes for Clark to Kalibo  and Kalibo to Clark effective December 15, 2012. The following options are available for guests who cannot travel on their new flight:

a)      Move your flight to any available flights of the same destination within 14 days after their original date of travel. You may change travel dates without fees  and fare difference charges. New travel dates are subjected to seat availability.
b)      Obtain a 90-day credit shell option which is a system that retains the amount of money which can be used for later transactions. The credit shell will be valid for up to 3 months from the date of issue.
c)       Cancel flight and get a full refund.
