Bukidnon: Camp Phillips, Del Monte Pineapple Plantation

On our first day, we decided to visit the province of Bukidnon. This is my 25th province. Since we were 8 pax, we opted to hire a van from Laguindingan Airport to Dahilayan Adventure Park. We hired Kuya Boyet and his new Toyota Grandia.

Before entering Bukidnon, there is a quarantine checkpoint for everyone to avoid the spread of foot and mouth disease and other bacteria that may affect the animals and pineapples.

After an hour, we finally reach Camp Phillips. The landmark is the giant pineapple. We noticed that there were many police/security around the perimeter because last February 2013, NPA attacked the Del Monte Plantation thus destroyed the giant pineapple icon of Camp Phillips.

Camp Phillips is the home of Del Monte Philippines employees. it is a community in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon. American style houses where built for Del Monte employees. Almost everything can be found in the community, from playground, church, market and even tennis court.

A wide area of the place is planted with pineapples.

I love the climate in Bukidnon. It's relatively cool. Parang Baguio at Tagaytay.

Don't miss to include Camp Phillips in your itinerary upon visiting Bukidnon.
