Where to Go in Camiguin: Sunken Cemetery, Walkway to the Old Volcano and Old Church Ruins

After Katibawasan Falls, we went to the most famous landmark of Camiguin, The Sunken Cemetery.

We passed by the Walkway to the Old Volcano and Stations of the Cross. Kuya Rodel told us that it will take 2 hours to climb...ayun natakot kami kaya hindi na kami umakyat. Nagpa picture na lang kami.

After photo ops, we went to The Sunken Cemetery.

When Mt. Vulcan erupted in 1871, some areas in Bonbon subsided and sunk the cemetery down below sea level. Then in 1982, a cross marker was built to commemorate the place. It is now one of the major tourist attraction in Camiguin.

You can go to the cross by riding the boat powered by the powerful arms of the boatman for a minimum amount. The boatman will also serve as your photographer.

I got a little bit scared because I thought of the scenes from the movie "Quoija". The boatman showed us the spot where Judy Ann Santos dived.

Next stop was the Old Church Ruins or the Gui-ob Church in Bonbon. It was also destroyed in the eruption of Mt. Vulcan.

There is a huge tree that is said to be centuries old. Don't miss this spot for some photo ops.
